How to Truly Look Up
Do you have questions similar to the ones in the video? Watch general conference. This is where true answers come from. In my personal experience, general conference has helped me to understand who I truly am. Although it's boring at times, I know that the words the echo from that pulpit are the words of a loving Heavenly Father to me and everyone else. Knowing who you are is critical in building self-esteem. You cannot be confident in yourself if you don't know who yourself is. The Lord truly loves us and will lift us up as we turn to Him. At times in our lives though, general conference may make us feel worse about ourselves. The prophets call to repentance may strike to our hearts and we may feel worthless. Remember that feeling that way is normal. I don't know a single person in the world that has listened to general conference and has said to themselves that they living the counsel perfectly. These opportunities to fix our lives should be seen as a way to improve confidence. When you do follow the counsel of the prophet, you have a sense of accomplishment and a burden is lifted that would have only brought your confidence lower. You are now free to rise to new heights. This is true happiness. Remember how valuable you are in the eyes of the Lord. Do not tell yourself that you do not deserve happiness because you do! That is why the Lord sent you here. He wants your happiness. In His words "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matt. 11:28-30)
